WRC Wales Rally GB, 2016
The WRC Wales Rally GB, 2016 is the UK’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
It is held every year through the fast flowing forests tracks of South & North Wales. Held over 3 days featuring 22 special stages covering over 200 competitive miles through some legendary Welsh forests. The weather can play a massive part in the this rally. These forest tracks can be slippery at the best of times, but heavy rain, frost & ice can make the surface treacherous. Stir in a little fog & it can become a real test for even the world’s best rally drivers.
Fast & flowing stages like Hafren & Dynant offer great photo opportunities with gravel flying from the wheels. Whereas spectator favourite, Sweet Lamb with the exciting atmosphere created by the high jumps & dramatic water splash in the ‘bowl’ section add something different to the challenge. The speed the cars can get up to in fast stages like Myherin & Aberhirnant is just incredible! It hard to believe that they can find that amount of grip in the slippy mud & lose gravel. When a rally car comes past you at 100mph showering you…& your camera in dirt, trust me they are absolutely flying!!
